Beauty Essential: Argan Oil

After this has been introduced to me by a friend for my natural curly hair, I GOT HOOKED. But Argan Oil is not just for the hair, I will share to all the other things it can do to you.

ARGAN OIL is a plant oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree (Argania spinosa L.), endemic to Morocco, that is valued for its nutritive, cosmetic and numerous medicinal properties. It is also known in cosmetic use as moroccan oil.

Extraction of the kernels is key to the argan oil production process. In order to extract the kernels, the argan fruits are first dried in the open air and then the fleshy pulp of the fruit is removed. Sometimes the flesh is removed mechanically without the need to dry the fruits. The flesh is usually used as feed for animals.

The next stage involves cracking the argan nut to obtain the argan kernels. Attempts to mechanize this process have been unsuccessful and therefore it is still carried out by hand, making it a time-consuming and labour-intensive process.

So basically, why am I crazy about this oil? Let me tell you the things it can do to you and your body.

FACE

If you have dry skin, this can be used as your moisturizer. You can use it day and night for better results. If you have oily skin, you can still use a small amount of Argan Oil so that it would not clog your pores. But this oil can also minimize your acne scars. It is rich in Vitamin E that nourishes the skin. It can also be your skin regimen for a younger looking skin Just use a small amount of Argan Oil. Trust me, a few drops goes a LONG way.

HAIR

This is my favorite part, and I have used it for quite some time now. I have curly hair, which is also colored and very frizzy. After using Argan Oil, my hair went back to its original shine. Just massage a small amount of oil over your hair after shower. Starting from the tips going to the roots. It can repair damaged hair and can replace your hair serum or leave-on conditioner.

HANDS / FEET / NAILS

Since Argan Oil moisturizes, this can be very useful for dry and brittle nails. It can also be a cuticle softener and heel softener. It can be used to moisturize dry hands. If your hands and feet looks "old" from all the dry skin, this can be used to bring back skin moisture and make your hands and feet look "younger". This can avoid cracking and peeling of dry skin.

BODY

It can also reduce stretch marks and is very safe for babies. You can use it for your bath water or directly onto the skin. For best moisturizing results, you can spread it evenly on skin after shower. It can also heal skin disorders like psoriasis, chicken pox, body acne or any inflammatory skin diseases.

It will cost you around Php 800 to Php 1,500. Well, if the Argan Oil is not expensive, it may not be "pure" argan oil. Since Argan Oils have a very delicate production process in Morocco, it may be quite expensive. Thus the term "Liquid Gold". It really has the worth of GOLD in it.
